The handbook squeezed the original system into the new language and lost nothing. This page runs the exercise the other way: for each component and layout decision we carried, it asks whether Untitled’s own answer is simply better, and says so when it is. Verdicts are adopt, hybrid, or keep ours; the three cards that amended standing laws carry the ruling stamp: all three were ruled on 25 Aug 2026.
The old rule was saturation up, area down: full-chroma marks beside words, no container, because a filled pill at 31px rows buried the customer’s name under forty colour blocks. Untitled’s rows are 44px and its pills are quiet: tinted grounds at 12.5px with a dot carrying the hue. In every lab screen you approved, the pills read calmly at register length. The area argument was right for the old density and is weaker at the new one; the dot inside the pill still carries the disposition, and the word still does the work.
The hardest one, because it touches the oldest law: one line per cell, no exceptions. Untitled’s registers put the name with one muted line beneath it, the email or the reference, inside a fixed 60px row, and every lab screen you approved used it. The law’s purpose was never one line for its own sake; it was no wrap, no overlap, no reflow. A fixed two-line identity cell keeps all three guarantees. The proposal: the identity cell may carry exactly one muted secondary line; every other cell stays one line; the row height is fixed at 60 and never varies. The law survives with a narrower wording and the tables get the single biggest warmth win Untitled offers.

The old system said severity is a leading edge, zero decoration. Untitled’s tinted alert card with an icon and an action button is a genuinely better banner: the gate warning in the lab screens said more, more gently, and carried its own action. But inside dense lists, a card per row would be cards inside cards. So: banners and standalone warnings take Untitled’s alert; queue rows, notification rows and attention cells keep the thin leading edge.
The old rule said a glyph above a sentence is an apology. Untitled’s featured icon is not the sad telescope the rule was written against: it is a small, quiet mark that names the register the reader is standing in. The discipline that mattered lives in the copy and survives: the sentence still names the next action and carries a fact, and the icon adds recognition, not remorse.

Log an enquiryUntitled’s native field is label above, hint below: faster to scan, and the only form anatomy that survives a narrow surface. Composers, dialogs and sheets adopt it. Settings keeps the three-column row, because what-it-is, what-it-is-set-to and who-may-change-it is not a form, it is a governance statement, and the who column is the whole point.
Already ruled in practice through the labs, recorded here as verdicts. The primary, secondary, tertiary and destructive button hierarchy replaces the old two quiet buttons; the underline tab with count pills replaces the old tab treatments outside settings; tinted initial avatars mark people everywhere a person appears; the stat card with a trend pill replaces the bare figure block; and the rounded 8/12 geometry with the shadow scale replaces radius zero, which was an aesthetic position, not a structural one, and nothing depended on it.
Untitled is a component language, not an operations doctrine. Everything below has no equivalent in the library, is the platform’s actual product, and stays exactly as the handbook states it.
