Lab 22 / annex / drawn by the engine itself

The chart engine, live.

Everything on this page is rendered in the browser by Apache ECharts 6.1, self-hosted and pinned exactly as the security laws demand, wearing one theme built from the design system's tokens: mono figures on the axes, the ours blue as the working colour, hairline rules, zero animation, and the hatched fill drawn by the engine's own decal layer. This is not a mockup of the product; it is the product's chart layer, running.

01 / tier one · the easy data

Bars and lines, on the system's marks.

Monthly revenue · Northline Travel LLC · USD bar · the open month is hatched
What to look at

August is the running month, so its bar wears the hatched fill: open, in flight, not yet a fact. The engine draws that hatch natively through its decal layer, which is why this library and this design system fit: the fill rule is a supported feature, not a workaround. Hover any bar; the tooltip is plain mono text, no HTML anywhere near it.

Outstanding receivables · 24 weeks line · endpoint emphasized · LTTB sampling on
What to look at

One hairline stroke, no markers except the emphasized endpoint, no area wash, no animation on load: the figure is readable the instant it appears (M1). The sampling flag is live, so the same series stays truthful when the ledger feeds it ten thousand points instead of twenty-four.

02 / tier two · the shaped data

The RSS radar, against the average.

Relationship strength · Meridian Capital Group · RSS 71 radar · six fixed axes · customer against the average
What to look at

Six axes in the platform's fixed order, and two lines that are one reading: the customer's profile in the ours blue, and the average across all customers as a dashed resting-grey baseline, because that baseline is how the score is calculated. Where the blue leaves the grey is the relationship. One customer per chart, always; the average is the only other line that may ever share the axes. The twelve figures live in the table view behind it.

03 / tier three · the instruments

The destination heat map and the money flow.

Where customers are booking · Q3 · Northline Travel LLC heat map · shade and mark scale with revenue
Destinations · revenue · share · Q3
Maldives$1,204,300 · 33.5%
Dubai$851,900 · 23.7%
Paris$556,410 · 15.5%
Rome$338,275 · 9.4%
Tokyo$232,860 · 6.5%
Other destinations$411,255 · 11.4%
What to look at

Where customers are booking, as heat: a country's shade deepens with its revenue on the sequential ramp, and the mark on it scales the same way, so the Maldives, a dot of geography carrying a third of the revenue, is never hidden by its own size. Every figure carries its share of the total, on the map, in the tooltip and in the list, which is the readable truth every chart owes (L12). Our own topology, no tiles, no third-party fetches. In the product, a country pulses once when a booking confirms live, the intelligence layer's first signal. This instrument lives in Sales Analytics, as ruled; the 3D globe follows the GL spike.

The money flow · revenue to margin · quarter to date sankey · every band opens its report
What to look at

Revenue splits into the four segments and each segment splits into cost of sales and margin, every figure the ledger's own, and every figure wearing its share of total revenue: a revenue never appears without the percentage it represents. Grey is cost, the won green is margin, and the flights band shows honestly how thin agent commission runs against package margin. In the product each band is a door into the report that proves it.

04 / operations · the service desk

Service tickets, across the month.

Service tickets · August, to date stacked bar · one bar per day · status carries the system's colours
What to look at

One bar per day, stacked by status, in the dispositions the platform already speaks: resolved is the won green, in progress is the ours blue, waiting on supplier wears the theirs amber with the hatched fill, because a ticket in a supplier's hands is open and out of ours, and new is the resting grey. Counts, not money, so no percentages: the share rule is for revenue. Hover a day for its counts and total; in the product every segment opens the Service Desk filtered to that day and status.
